Given recent headlines, we wanted to share a quick update with you on how Owl is managing during the COVID-19 challenge. We’ve had several inquiries and questions from therapists, so we hope you find these thoughts and suggestions helpful.
OWL PREPAREDNESS FOR COVID-19:
We do not expect any service interruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have plans in place regarding our employee distancing and redundancy to manage any immediate impact experienced by our team.
USING OWL EFFECTIVELY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING:
There are several ways you can choose to use Owl to help with any social distancing needs you have for your practice. These include:
- Share information on your COVID-19 policies and procedures on your online portal home page
- Update your confirmation emails and appointment reminders with COVID-19 policies you’ve implemented so your clients are aware of these
- Use the Client Export feature to download a list of your clients and email addresses to mass BCC any communication regarding COVID-19 you wish to share (you’ll need to use your own email program to do this)
Several of you have also asked about an Owl video feature which you can use to facilitate remote therapy sessions. While we don’t have a video feature yet, we are hard at work on one and expect it to be ready in the next several months. In the meantime, you can make use of Owl’s Secure Messaging, and obviously conduct phone sessions if that’s something you’re comfortable doing in your practice.
HOW THE OWL TEAM IS DEALING WITH COVID-19:
As a team of co-workers at Owl, we’re trying to do our part to help flatten the epidemic curve in Canada. Specifically, we’re working remotely and choosing to postpone non-essential get-togethers. More broadly, we’re challenging each other to stay positive, and be kind to family, friends and neighbours. Together we can get through this.
