We love getting feedback about our services here at Owl.

Whether it’s suggestions, constructive criticism, or rave reviews, our clients’ feedback allows us to refine our existing practice management services and introduce brand-new offerings to meet your needs.

And boy, have we been getting a lot of feedback about Owl Video Therapy! Since we introduced our new Video Therapy a few months ago, it’s become one of our most popular and highly-rated features. Owl Practice users have given it an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars! Now, that’s a tough score to beat!

So, what makes Owl Video such a favourite? Let’s take a look…

Video Therapy is 100% Necessary in 2020

When the shutdown first hit back in March, countless businesses and operations worldwide were forced to shut their doors. This was no exception for most mental health practices. After all, how could you have sessions with your clients when they weren’t allowed into your office because of social distancing?

Coincidently, the pandemic coincided with our development of Owl Video Therapy. We had been working on this new video feature for some time, and the release was timely. We’re so gratified to be able to help therapists, psychologists, and social workers with a secure, reliable, and compliant solution.

With Owl Video, therapists and other mental health professionals can hold sessions with clients from the comfort of their own homes. There’s no need for in-person contact whatsoever. Virtual sessions helped our clients keep their practices operating throughout the pandemic, but it also connected therapists with the people who needed mental health support the most. We’re so proud of how this new feature has helped both therapists and their clients.

Security, Delivered by Owl!

Of course, we aren’t the only ones to have come up with video conferencing. For example, a little company called Zoom (maybe you’ve heard of it) has had a massive boost during the pandemic.

However, many mental health professionals were reluctant to use Zoom or other video conferencing apps because of security concerns—and for good reason! There are dozens of stories back in March and April about “private” video conferences being crashed by random users. That’s the absolute last thing you want if you’re in a profoundly personal session with a client. Not only would it be an awful disruption, but it would also be compromising your client’s personal information and security.

When we built Owl Video, we made sure that it was protected by the same security measures that we use for all our services. It’s the only fully PHI and College-Compliant video conferencing platform available in Canada, giving our clients the security they need as well as peace of mind. Everything is run through our Canadian servers, meaning Canadian privacy laws protect all information. And since it’s only Owl Practice users and their clients who are using it, and it’s fully secure and compliant, there is no chance of anyone else suddenly popping in for a surprise hello.

Owl Practice Integration

When it comes to providing an effective practice management system, integration is vital. You don’t want to have to open up different programs to access necessary features. You need them to be laid out in front of you, sharing data and information in one comprehensive system.

This integration is another reason why Owl Video Therapy has made such a great impression on our clients: it’s fully integrated into Owl Practice. When you have a virtual session with a client, you’ll have access to everything, from your clinical notes to their client profile to their Circle of Care network, all right at your fingertips, no matter what device you’re using. With this integration, Owl Video has provided a seamless solution for therapists to operate throughout the pandemic.

Features Galore!

These video therapy features sound great for therapists who primarily work one-on-one, but what about for those who work with multiple people at the same time?

Family and group therapy are just as important as personal therapy, so we didn’t forget about groups when we designed our Video Therapy. Multi-person sessions are built right into the service!

So, no matter how many people are in a therapy session, Owl Video can accommodate them. By the way, we’re the ONLY practice management platform that offers this feature!

Bringing It Home

One thing that this pandemic has also taught us is that Video Therapy is here to stay. While many clients look forward to the return of in-person sessions, the convenience of virtual therapy has become the new normal for many therapists and their clients.

We are so proud of Owl Video and the support it’s provided to our clients during these unprecedented times. But we aren’t resting on our laurels! Yes, Video Therapy has achieved a 4.5 out of 5, but we won’t be satisfied until it scores a perfect five!
